Tribute to Flet

My Aunt Flet died today. She was a treasure.  She could play the piano like crazy- leaving no key untouched.  She made quilts, crocheted, made baskets, created all sorts of crafts. She used to make all her clothes and her children’s clothes.  She could create special meals on a very limited budget.  She used to [...]

Hallelujah!

I just returned from the Bariatric Surgeon- he said everything looked great!  I could have told him that. I feel very great!  It really feels good to return to exercising.  I am still enjoying my iPod that Katie supplied the music for-  people come up to me and say- you must be listening to something [...]

Ragamuffin

There is not much to report from me.  I am returning to normal living- working out at the gym, shopping, seeing friends, going to church and eating a little more.  Ronnie and I have been to O’Charley’s twice this week- we split the Salmon plate.  I eat 1/3 of the salmon, half the steamed veggies, [...]

I could have slept all night!

Yay! I slept all night last night. That is probably a first in a month.  I had help from Amy Ambien, but I did it!  Ronnie slept too! He has been getting up at 3am and unable to get back to sleep- we were excited this morning for sure.
I went to work out at Rex [...]

New Hero

I am adding a bit more activity back into my life.  I went to a party on Saturday night- although we left early, I went to church on Sunday, I walked the mall on Sunday afternoon, etc.  My fever is finally gone and I am trying to develop some strength back. I still have no [...]

Oops

This is Ronnie.  Sue is doing great.  I know that normally when I have made a blog entry it was for something that was not good news.  Well, so it is now.   I was trying to change her picture on her blog and I accidentally deleted her last blog entry, along with your comments.  [...]

Bits and Pieces

I was so blessed today by going to bible study.  The sweet fellowship was so invigorating- then I was able to leave, go home, and rest.  There is such comfort in being a part of a group of girls who love me no matter what.  Safety. Sweetness. Satisfied.
Before  I left home this morning, I had [...]

My seroma

I just returned from Dr. Paul Enochs, a Cary Bariatric Surgeon. We had to wait a couple of hours, but we were pleased to see him. He was very nice and explained that he felt the cause of the fever was a seroma. A seroma is a pocket of clear serous fluid that sometimes develops [...]

Afternoon Delight

I have an appointment today with Dr. Paul Enochs at 4pm.  I know nothing else except he is a surgeon who does weight loss surgery.  Please pray that he can solve my problem quickly and without complications.  I would love to have the incision opened and cleaned out today if that is what is necessary.

The Black Hole

I believe we have found the site of my infection.  The CT scan revealed that the stomach, intestines and all the guts looked good but there is a small pocket approximately 1×2″ at the very top of my incision.  We have been aware of it all along and have followed the doctors advice of cleaning [...]
